Downtown Kelowna is set against the beauty of Lake Okanagan. It's home to a developing Cultural District with galleries, theatres, restaurants, and trendy retail. Visitors will find numerous convenient amenities including a library, banks, parks and gardens, restaurants, pubs, extensive shopping, and coffee shops.
2010 saw the completion of Stuart Park on Water Street, complete with an outdoor skating rink, 2 stages for various outdoor entertainment, an orchard, and the lakeside walkway that winds from the William R. Bennett bridge through Downtown to the Rotary Marshes.
This year is also a very important year for Bernard Ave, Downtown Kelowna's main street. The City of Kelowna is engaging the members of Downtown, the DKA and community members at large to weigh in on the matter of "Bernard Ave Revitalization". The underground utilities on Bernard Ave must be replaced within the next 5 years, and there is an opportunity to partake in a beautification project at the same time. The DKA is very excited about this initiative, as the final outcome would be a modern, beautiful and pedestrian friendly Downtown main street.
We'd love to see you... Downtown Kelowna!
