Pathways Abilities Society (formerly Kelowna and District Society for Community Living) has been serving adults with developmental disabilities in Kelowna and area since 1953! Originally known as the Sunnyvale School, it was created to ensure children with disabilities had an opportunity for education just like everyone else. These days, children with developmental disabilities (or 'different abilities' as some chose to say) are taken through school via School District #23 with everyone else.
When they become adults, however, the services through the school stops. KDSCL is a place to come to receive further assistance with life skills, employment, volunteerism and meaningful activity. KDSCL serves over 150 individuals and their families to live productive and happy lives.
