The Downtown Kelowna Association Board of Directors is voted annually by the membership and serve a two year term. Any property owner, leasee, or tenant located of a Class 5 or 6 property within the Downtown BIA boundary is eligible for nomination and election. Election Information

In March 2019, the Downtown Kelowna Business Improvement Area (Downtown Kelowna Association) accepted seven (7) nominations to fill seven (7) positions on its Board of Directors for two (2) year terms. The current Board of Directors of the Downtown Kelowna Association consists of fourteen (11) Directors.

How can I get nominated?

The Downtown Kelowna Association Board of Directors is voted annually by the membership and serve a two year term. There are 7 seats available of a 14 member Board: 13 elected, 1 appointed.

Nominations open in March and nomination forms may be obtained from our website www.downtownkelowna.com/election, emailed upon request or picked up from our office.

Nominees must:

  • Be a Class 5 or 6 property owner, tenant, business owner or duly authorized employee,
  • Consent to the nomination by signing the form,
  • Serve for a 2 year term,
  • Attend monthly meetings 5pm-7pm, and
  • Have an active interest in Downtown.

Nominators must:

  • Be a Class 5 or 6 property owner, tenant, business owner or duly authorized employee.
Completed nomination forms and bios (100 words) may be submitted via email, fax or delivered/mailed directly to our office.

What are the board member's requirements?

  • Be a Non-Residential Property Owner or Tenant, Business Owner or Employee within the Downtown Kelowna Association boundary,
  • Serve for a two (2) year term,
  • Attend monthly meetings from 5pm – 7pm, and
  • Have an active interest in Downtown Kelowna.
