The Downtown Kelowna Association (DKA) Board of Directors is voted annually by the membership and serve a two-year term. Any property owner or tenant of Class 5 or 6 real property, or a duly authorized employee of a property owner or tenant afore-described, located within the Downtown BIA boundary is eligible for nomination. Due to Covid-19 restrictions in 2020, the Board of Directors applied to delay the AGM and election until 2021, thus we are holding 2 AGM’s and received nominations for 2 elections this year. As such, Directors that would have been up for election in 2020 had their term extended to this year, resulting in Board openings for 1 year and 2-year terms. The election results by Acclamation are at the top of this page.

How can I get nominated?

The Downtown Kelowna Association Board of Directors is voted annually by the membership and serve a two year term. There are 7 seats available of a 14 member Board: 13 elected, 1 appointed.

Nominations open in March and nomination forms may be obtained from our website www.downtownkelowna.com/elections, emailed upon request or picked up from our office.

Nominees must:

  • Be a Class 5 or 6 property owner, tenant, business owner or duly authorized employee
  • Consent to the nomination by signing the form
  • Serve for a 2 year term
  • Attend monthly meetings 5pm - 7pm
  • Have an active interest in Downtown

Nominators must:

  • Be a Class 5 or 6 property owner, tenant, business owner or duly authorized employee
Completed nomination forms and bios (100 words) may be submitted via email, fax or delivered/mailed directly to our office.

What are the board member's requirements?

  • Be a Non-Residential Property Owner or Tenant, Business Owner or Employee within the Downtown Kelowna Association boundary
  • Serve for a two (2) year term
  • Attend monthly meetings from 5pm - 7pm
  • Have an active interest in Downtown Kelowna
