This FREE event is open to all ages.

All sessions begin at 12 p.m. and are finished by 1 p.m.

Our Fall Series features local experts speaking on the following topics:

Oct. 29 - Racism vs. Discrimination: Is There a Difference? by Rawle James

We can be quick to use the racist/racism label. In this presentation, we will explore what is racism, and how it differs from bigotry and discrimination. Together we'll explore why these differences are relevant and gain some perspective on your own beliefs around race.

Rawle is a community builder, facilitator, inspirational speaker, poet and transformation coach committed to enriching lives and building a community that is equitable, inclusive and respectful. Since moving to Kelowna, BC, Rawle has had the good fortune of connecting to the community through his various roles and undertakings as a football coach, teacher, speaker, cultural animator, spiritual mentor, the various board of director positions. He is the founder of the Inspired Word Café (www.inspiredwordcafe.com) and has self-published his first book of poetry called “Truth Experienced” back in 2012. Today, Rawle continues his work sin human and community development through debunking the myth of race.
